Utop Travel

Tour Categories

Utop Travel has expanded their services to travellers with a physical or mental disability and their companions/carers.

Surely, there already are a number of tour operators in Great Britain, who offer travel products specifically catering for disabled travellers (although mostly for wheelchair users only) but our research shows that there still is space for improvement.

As one of the few Scottish Tour Operators, we pride ourselves to open our complete product range as much as possible for these travellers, as we would like to cater for people of all walks of life and that certainly includes travellers with disabilities.

Disabled travellers (or their carers) can contact us directly to discuss their travel requirements and, after careful sourcing, we will ensure:
- appropriate and safe means of transport
- appropriate accessibility of visitors sites and accommodation premises, including: accessible rooms and amenities such as bathrooms with roll-in shower, Braille or raised signage, induction loop systems for the hearing impaired
- 24 x 7 support from qualified carers

Our aim is to integrate, not isolate travellers with special needs.
Of course, we can offer specially adapted travel programmes, but we would like to encourage these travellers to join tours with their able-bodied co-travellers.
This way, we are in the position to offer disabled travellers a real choice, which still is rather unique in the travel industry as far as this traveller category is concerned.

This service will not be restricted to the UK market only; as a Tour Operator and Ground Handler for Incoming Tours, Utop Travel caters for both groups and individuals from around the globe.

In addition, it is our hope, that this initiative will be an extra encouragement for more Accommodation Holders, Restaurant/Pub Owners and Tourist Attraction Providers to improve their accessibility and in-house service for this important traveller category.

For more information please contact us or book a visit at our Stand A12 on the EXPO 2010 in the SECC in Glasgow from 14 -15 April 2010.
